This workshop will provide participants with an overview of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) fundamentals, and how they can be applied to improve medication safety in a Community Pharmacy environment. Expert advice will also be provided by ISMP Canada faculty that are medication safety specialists.

Abstract
Over the course of 1 day, participants will learn and apply key CQI tools such as value stream mapping, fishbone diagrams, data collection techniques, PDSA thinking, and others. These tools allow users to better understand what the problem is, what the underlying causes are, and generate highly effective and sustainable solutions to address them. Participants will apply tools and concepts to a community pharmacy centred case study through individual and group exercises. Participants will also receive a Lean/Six Sigma White Belt Certification.

Learning Objectives:
- Explain foundational CQI tools and methodologies, such as Value Stream Mapping, Fishbone Diagrams, Rapid Experimentation, etc.
- Describe CQI methodologies used in community pharmacies through case studies.
- Explain the Problem Solving Process.
- Apply principles to drive measurable improvements in medication safety locally.
Equipment/Materials
To attend a virtual workshop, you will need the following:
- Computer with internet connection, speakers, webcam and microphone
- Computer printer, if available but not required
Materials that will be provided to you electronically are:
- Workshop handouts
- Workshop references
- Workshop cases (for hands-on practice)
- Lean/Six Sigma White Belt Certification will be provided to the participant

Group Discount:
A 10% discount is offered to organizations who send 5 or more attendees to a workshop. If interested, please contact education@ismpcanada.ca.
Cancellation Policy:
- Notice of all cancellations must be provided in writing at least 21 days prior to the event. A $75 administration fee will apply to all refunds. There are no refunds for registrants who cancel after the cancellation deadline.
- Registrants may postpone attendance to a future workshop however a $75 administration fee will apply if notice of postponement is received less than 21 days prior to the event.
- ISMP Canada reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops. In the event of a cancellation, fees paid will be credited towards a future workshop, or fully refunded.
